Dear Reader,

Here is a small sampling of chapbooks that I have made over the years. The first one in this collection, "Good Planets Are Hard To Find" was created in 1994, this story has Sasquach, flying saucers, bumbling scientists, and Oregon wilderness all mixed together with an ending influenced by Gogol's "King of Spain". The second offering in this collection "Plight of the Goldfish" was written in 1996, it's about this inspiring and colorful lady of our town (who died just a few months ago Oct. 13th 2004 R.I.P.) and this funky coffee shop (the Telecafe) that I used to hang out in. I was really into Kerouac at the time and just drinking a ton of coffee and writing in my notebooks in coffee shops, and one day this lady, Jada Mae walked in and I wrote this story down. It's all about friendship and not giving up what you believe in. The third offering in this collection "Fifteen Dragonflies" is a "best of" ecstatic poetry book. I collected a few of the poems that I had written that I thought were fun or ecstatic and put them together in this chapbook. I have gone to readings and read almost the whole thing through, skipping one or two if I thought the audience wasn't that into it. Anyhow the fourth chapbook offered here "Photographs of a Rock and Roll Photographer" was a photography chapbook that I made to go along with this Photography art show I had last year, June 2004. It contains all the photo's from my show plus a few extras, the problem with it was that color copies cost so much ($1.99 or so) that it cost me a fortune to make so I had to charge a lot for it, and it didn't go over to well, being so expensive for a cruddy little photocopied chapbook. But the people I gave it to for free seemed to like it ok, and I'm presenting it here because I switched from writing to photography as my main hobby at around this time, and yet I still liked making these chapbooks. The final chapbook of this collection "Doom Town Two 2005 Fashion Photography" is the latest chapbook that I have constructed consisting of some fashion shots from the Crystal Ballroom's yearly fashion show. My brain was not working that good that evening and my flash was going out, so the shots are very hit and miss, so I decided to turn them into a zine and it turned out better than the prints would of looked by themselves, or so I feel. Anyhow this chapbook again cost me a fortune to make because of the high price of color copies, but I choose to include it here because it's my latest chapbook creation. After building this website I'm going to be getting to work on sorting through all my journals from the past 5 years and try and build another poetry chapbook, along with an audio poetry CD, that I'll have for sale in the Records section, and then I'm also going to start writing a semi-fictional narative confessional type series of chapbooks called the "Pirate Diaries" so check back later for more crazy stuff, peace.
