There are a lot of great artists and musicians in probably all parts of the world, but here in Portland there seems to be a plethora of them. For the longest time I would see these perfomances and couldn't believe that they were not being recorded, for they seemed so good. So anyhow a few years ago this buddy of mine gave me his old VHS-C video camera, man was I psyched, I had wanted one of these things for years. So anyhow I started taping all sorts of things; my brothers baseball games, lectures, dance, music, people, etc.. And I really liked doing it, yet after a while I longed for a better camera. Around Christmas '04 I realized that I really needed a better recording device, for my VHS-C camera isn't even digital and just records audio to one channel, I then have to mix this out to a mono low-res stream, which most of these sample recordings are. I couldn't afford the $3500 for a new state of the art video camera but for Christmas I did invest in this stereo mic that I can plug into my laptop that can make pretty good audio recordings or so I'm hoping ( better than that video camera at least, I just wish the laptop battery would last longer than 1 hour ). So anyhow what I'm trying to say is that I'm always trying to get better recordings, but what's most important is the music and art and that I think comes thru pretty good even with my cruddy equipement. So as I become more professional I'd like to help artists make recordings/records/cd's. These following samples are some local artists that inspire me, and that I'd like help make CD's someday. Peace, and please contact me if you had any questions or if you'd like to make a recording sometime.
These are all windows media files and probably work best with a high speed connection:
